HOLIDAY BLING 2012: A Fine Line

In my LINE of work there’s always an occasion to break out the bling. Don’t find yourself in front of the firing LINE this holiday season. Here's some fabulous jewelry available in time for gift giving.

Tennis, anyone? Personally, I’d argue that they don’t belong on the court but as my Mum always says…You just never know who you’ll meet so it’s important to look your best ALWAYS.

And who says they have to be made with round diamonds? Think outside the LINES with different shaped stones.
Always a classic choice, whether in traditional form or in newer incarnations like a lariat or bolo-style necklace. Somehow sleek lines like these translate both to fancy dress as well as everyday.

You can’t say these wouldn’t look equally good with an LBD or jeans and a white T-shirt, right?

For once, take out those diamond studs you’ve been wearing incessantly! Trust me, I get it. Sometimes it feels like mine are glued to my ears but wouldn’t it be nice to change things up a bit? Long earrings can turn any holiday outfit into something so special, so quickly.

HOLIDAY BLING 2012: The Gold Standard

Its Black Friday and you’re stuck at work. We both know you’re not actually getting anything done so...you’re welcome, for the pretty jewelry distraction!
I still believe in the Gold Standard and so should you, this holiday season!

And fine, so maybe in my house gold tinsel is replaced with gold foil-covered gelt coins. Either way, the gold glows just as bright!

Hoop Earrings & Bangle Bracelets just couldn’t get more classic

Stacked Rings allow you to mix ‘n match colour, width and texture.

Somehow, these necklaces give new meaning to the words: The Old Ball & Chain

Think of gold like candlelight...everyone looks BETTER in it!

HOLIDAY BLING 2012: Easy As Pie

For the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some holiday gift ideas.  We all know there's nothing a lady wants more so take a look & spread the word!

I love to use the word “effective” when speaking of jewelry. An effective piece is one that shows terrifically well; maximizing both the jewelry’s best traits as well as the buyer’s budget.

These earrings and pendants couldn’t possibly be more EFFECTIVE. Picture the pie charts we learned about in school…only prettier. Much prettier.
Each piece is made up of 4 diamonds placed together to form an overall circle…and the illusion of one large round diamond. Trompe L’Oeil at its very best!

At a fraction (no, seriously, a fraction) of the cost of single stones of the same diameter, these pieces make for excellent holiday gifts.

Shhh….I won’t tell if you wont!

Solitaire, Schmolitaire!

Conventional rules have gone the way of the Dodo. Red wine with your fish…why not?  Pairing navy with black…an old no-no that is now so yes-yes!

Same goes for engagement rings. Who says the ring has to be the classic solitaire rock + setting? What if that just isn’t your style? Or, doesn’t fit your lifestyle/work? Consider instead an Engagement Eternity Band.

Years ago, I made one for none other than Jemma Kidd, beauty & make-up icon and contributor for November’s Vogue Magazine. When designing for Jemma, her lovely then-fiancĂ©-to-be Arthur stressed how important it was for the ring to be wearable considering his beloved worked elbow deep in blushes, brushes and lipsticks every day.
The solution was a striking oval-shaped diamond eternity band. And if you think this sparkling piece was any less effective than a more traditional solitaire, consider yourself SORELY MISTAKEN.
“Important” or in layman’s terms, “va-va-voom” eternity bands are a wonderful way to set a striking engagement tone if a more bauble-type ring just won’t do for your job or lifestyle preferences.
And while you’re at it, why not skip conventional round diamonds (not that there’s anything wrong with them!) and opt for fancy shapes?
Two words: YES, PLEASE.
